Subject: Relate to reach

Hi {Name},

Do you know who you are targeting? I dont mean just keywords,
I mean the who. You need to think about their age, their marital
status, the size of their family, what kind of car they drive, etc.

I remember being told once that in order to reach to your potential
customers you have to relate to your potential customers. You have
to understand what makes them happy and what makes them sad. You
have to know the struggles that keep them awake at night.

You can find out this information by guessing which may or may not
give you accurate results but you can also check your Google Analytics
on your website. Analytics are only helpful if you have had a decent
amount of traffic to pull the data from.

Another option would be to hire a service. Several of these are available
and listed in the Media Buying 101 guide. There are many places who will
do your demographic research for you. Shop and compare your choices
so you can find one that fits your budget.

Then remember you cant reach them, unless you can relate to them.

Find people within that demographic to interview so you can really get
to understand their needs.

Now, its time to get studying and find out what makes them tick.

If you want to know more about the people that actually visit your
website, you may want to ask them a few questions or fill
out a survey.

Knowing more about your own visitors will help you sculpt the
demographics of new potential customers.

You can use a timed pop-up to ask them to fill out a survey when
clicked or you may want to a subtle attention-bar technique that
I have deployed, on my pages and posts - and on other
site's pages and posts.
